The seafront in Aabenraa
The seafront promenade in Aabenraa helps to better connect the beach and the city centre. It is a recreational urban space that, with its location close to the water and a major access road, has a major influence on how inviting Aabenraa presents itself – both for the citizens of the municipality and for new visitors to Aabenraa.
Aabenraa Municipality spent DKK 18 million on beautifying and renovating the stretch from Café Under Sejlet at Sønderstrand to the outlet of Mølleåen, as well as the construction of the next stretch of the promenade from Mølleåen and past Sydhavn to Nyvej. The facility was completed in June 2020. Simultaneously with the construction of the promenade, Stenbjerg Ejendomme built a new office building and a new harbour grill.
The edges of the seafront promenade in Aabenraa have been paved with granite patches, and here the building consultants, together with Arkil A/S, who were responsible for the paving work in the delimited areas, chose Lithomex L20 strength joint in the colour grey.
L20 from Lithomex is a 2-component strength joint that can withstand medium-heavy traffic and also resists sweepers to prevent the joint from being sucked up. In addition, L20 also minimises the emergence of weeds, allowing Aabenraa Municipality to reduce their maintenance costs in this area.
